Volunteer Opportunities

If you are a history buff, interested in preservation and love old cemeteries then consider joining a great group of people with a shared interest at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery! Share your passion by volunteering your skills to help us maintain and restore the remarkable beauty of this treasured landmark. The Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is on the Register for National Historic Places we are proud of this recognition and we are dedicated to preserving and protecting it for years to come.

Volunteers are needed to help create awareness of value of the cemetery as a unique means of historical preservation though tourism, media relations and community outreach.

Skill sets desired, but not limited to the following:

  • Landscaping
  • Tree Removal
  • Stone Masonry
  • Graphic Arts
  • Writing and Editing
  • Historical Research
  • Event Planning
  • Education
  • Hospitality

Volunteers who take on an available position must be able to commit approximately 5 hours a week for a period of 6 months.

What could be more gratifying than helping to preserve the past for the future?

To volunteer, you must be at least 18 years of age.
