Tired of the same old corporate, group, and school events. Speak with us about planning something new, historical and educational for your group.
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery tours gives you an inside look at the lives of the prominent residents of New York such as the Rockefellers, the Helmsleys and our legendary author Washington Irving who now quietly rest in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Not only will you hear the rich, historical tales of their lives, but you will admire the cemetery art that dates back to 1849.
We have a number of themed tours that may be of interest to your group. Our most popular tour is the Murder and Mayhem tour.
Murder & Mayhem introduces some of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery’s fallen angels and colorful incidents. By the flickering light of a lantern you’ll meet both victims and perpetrators: the flamboyant businesswoman remembered as “the wickedest woman in New York,” a debonair counterfeiter, the scene of a grave robbery, a brotherly murder-suicide, and the celebrated opera singer who was alleged to have assaulted, extorted, and killed various of her seven husbands.
Girls Night Out (In the Cemetery)
What do a socialite, a chorus girl and a felon have in common? For one, they’re all famous female residents of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. For another, you can hear their remarkable stories and visit their burial sites during Girls’ Night Out (In The Cemetery), our new themed tour. You’ll visit such acclaimed women as socialite Brooke Astor and activist Belle Linder Moskowitz, a glamorous Ziegfeld girl, a controversial Victorian abortionist, and a recipient of both The Presidential Medal of Freedom and The Congressional Gold Medal. The stories of these women’s lives will inspire and, sometimes, shock you. The cemetery art will take your breath away. This promises to be a fun…and unique…girls’ night out! (Guys welcome too!)
